Paruthi Veeran

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

Following Suriya, it's now the turn of his brother Karthi to try his luck before the camera. Director Ameer's Paruthi Veeran introduces him.

Ameer, who made movies like Mounam Pesiyadhe and the critically-acclaimed Ram, features Karthi in the lead role in Paruthi Veeran. And he is paired with Priyamani.

Ram, the suspense thriller by Ameer won for him accolades from various quarters. Screened at various film festivals, Ram brought an identity to the director besides several awards.

Paruthi Veeran is again expected to take him to new heights.

Paruthi Veeran is about an honest youth fighting for the people of his village.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music while cinematography is by Ramji.

Ameer, known for cautious excellence, has taken almost a year to wind up shooting.

He says, 'I will not compromise on the quality. There is nothing wrong in waiting for a compact and real entertainer'.

Expectations are high on Paruthi Veeran, since his earlier films had proved that he can blend realism with entertainment.

Paruthi Veeran was shot in remote villages in Madurai district and is supposedly an inspiration of a real-life incident.

Ramji, who handled the cinematography in Ameer's earlier ventures, has joined hands with him again.

Yuvan Shankar has composed the music.

'For me, quality matters the most. Keeping that in mind, I took time to get the best from my stars'.

With major portion of the movie wound up, Ameer is planning to have the film released this Deepavali.

For Karthi, who grew a beard to suit the role of a rural hero, this is an acid test. He has to match the reputation of his father and brother.

For Priyamani, this is an important movie for obvious reasons.
