Parthiepan and Latha Rajinikanth team up for a Good Cause

Actor-Director R.Parthiepan has met the Chennai City Police Commissioner and submitted a petition requesting the Police department seeking safety for children of the pavement dwellers against Child trafficking.

Noting that child trafficking has been on the rise in Tamil Nadu State, the much acclaimed director sought for a speedy investigation into the children who have been kidnapped.

Parthiepan`s petition mentioned that recently two children`s living on the pavements have been kidnapped; 656 children have been kidnapped in the last one year across Tamil Nadu out of which 305 were girls.

Superstar Rajinikanth`s wife Latha Rajinikanth who has been involving herself in various social causes has teamed up with Parthiepan in this regard. The petition to the Commissioner has been submitted on behalf of Parthiepan`s Manidha Neya Mandram, Latha`s Dhaya Foundation and M.B.Nirmal`s EXNORA.

Parthiepan has stated that a public event has been organised on 3rd April to highlight the issue of children being kidnapped and about the safety of the city pavement dwellers. Latha Rajinikanth is expected to address the gathering on that day.

The Commissioner T.K.Rajendran has apparently assured that the investigation is already on and the culprits will be nabbed soon. He has requested the actor-director to organize awareness programs on the safety of children in general as well as the pavement dwellers.
