After Vivekh, Parthiban undergoes a major career change

Yesteryear heroes, comedians and character actors are slowly graduating to the quintessential father role in Tamil cinema. Sathyaraj and Prabhu are the front-runners in this area and their contemporary Vivekh has played the father to Karthi in the just released Kaashmora'.

Pathiban is the latest hero to turn onscreen father in Podhuvaga En Manasu Thangam' directed by Thalapathi Prabhu and produced by Sri Thenandal Films. The film stars Udhayanidhi Stalin as the hero and Nivetha Pethuraj as his love interest. Parthiban is playing Nivetha's father and a political dadha who has a heated rivalry with the hero. It is said that the Pudhiya Paathai' hero agreed to the role because it is a meaty one.
