Actor and director R Parthiban had last directed the movie Oththa Seruppu which was written, produced, directed by Parthiban and had no actor other than Parthiban featured in it. The movie received rave reviews from critics.

After the success of Oththa Seruppu, Parthiban announced plans to direct the Hindi remake of the movie with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and also has discussed with Hollywood production houses for an English remake. He had also launched a movie named Iravin Nizhal as a single shot movie.

Now, Parthiban has revealed in a recent interview that he's planning to direct the Hindi remake of his 1999 critically acclaimed movie Housefull which had him playing a theatre owner and also starred Vikram and Suvalakshmi. Parthiban plans to direct the Hindi remake with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead and has sent the DVD of Housefull to Amitabh through a producer named Ramesh and is waiting for the actor's nod.
