In a shockingly barbarous incident, an 18-year-old man has reportedly killed a school teacher in a suburb near Paris, France, after the teacher showed the children in his class caricatures of Prophet Muhammad. These caricatures are reportedly from Charlie Hebdo, a satirical newspaper, which controversially published cartoons on the founder of Islam a few years ago.
The incident has been described by French President Emmanuel Macron as an "Islamist terrorist attack". BBC has quoted policemen as saying that the attacker shouted "Allahu Akbar" after killing the teacher.
The attacker was shot dead by police. "The teacher was killed because he taught freedom of expression," the President, who recently announced a few steps to curb the increasing incidence of Islamic fundamentalism in France, observed.
Macron, who is a strong critic of Islamism, added, "They won't win. We will act."
Hours after the murder of the teacher, the police department nabbed down the suspect and eliminated him successfully. They had to kill the attacker because he allegedly threatened them and refused to surrender. Public alertness helped the police in tracing him.
