Earlier news had been that Hollywood filmmaker Mitesh Patel, who grabbed attention for bringing up ‘Kamasutra’ in 3D, is going to next direct a biopic based on Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi. Now here’s an interesting update on the project - the versatile and talented Paresh Rawal will be playing the lead role!

The Rawal-Modi friendship goes back a long way. It’s also a known fact that Rawal campaigned for him last year, during the Gujarat elections.

As per reports, the veteran actor is most likely to portray the character of Modi, in the untitled flick. But, the news that he is going to produce it comes as a shock to many. He defends himself by saying that he believes in good films and hence, the move.

Mitesh Kumar Patel, an NRI of Gujarati origin, first floated the idea of making a biopic. He was very fascinated by Modi’s story. His journey from a common man to the chief minister of Gujarat is not known by all and this is the foundation of the story.

The director is yet to be finalized and the movie will go on floors in February next year.
