During his Sunday presser, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that private educational institutions can't hike their fees for the 2020-21 academic year. This is as per an order passed under the Epidemic Disaster Management Act, 1879.
"If any school demands fee hike, call up 100 and seek resolution," KCR said. The authorities will cancel the registration of the school if this order is found to be flouted by any.
In what has been touted as a big relief to tenants, the CM said that landlords/house owners cannot collect rents for March, April and May from tenants.
There is some confusion over this. Is it compulsory for house owners to follow the instruction or is it voluntary? It's compulsory. A Cabinet order will make it a must thing to be followed by all house owners in the State. However, tenants are liable to pay the rents for March, April and May later. No interest can be collected on the rents.
Meanwhile, the government has also transferred the Gachchibowli Stadium and the abutting sports complex, together with nine acres of open land in the vicinity, to the Health Department. "A 1,500-bed hospital at the Gachchibowli stadium will start functioning from Monday," KCR said.
