She acted in the movie and also crooned the hit song Singam Pola, following which she was flooded with films and acted in more than 25 movies.Her combination with Vivek was successful, and then she ventured into small screen with Gramathu Samayal program, besides also occasionally performing in musical shows abroad.Paravai Muniyamma's husband passed away before 3 years, and of her 6 children, 5 are married already, her last son has health issues due to which is residing with her.
After Paravai Muniyamma's health was affected before few years, the then Chief minister Jayalalithaa had arranged 6 lakhs fixed deposit in her name under MGR welfare scheme, and actor Dhanush had also taken care of her treatment expenses. She is leading her life with the monthly interest amount of 6000 rupees, and has also requested that the money in fixed deposit must reach her last son after her times. While she had been unhappy that her work was not appreciated during her prime, now following the announcement of Kalaimamani awards, she is happy that her contribution to art is finally recognized.
