What was meant for Dr Vishnuvardhana is now fitting the caliber of V Ravichandran. A third in the series is this ‘Paramashiva’ – an action, sentiment and sacrifice saga that has come in Tamil in 2001 as ‘Samuthiram’.

V Ravichandran handling the two roles of Shivanna and Paramashiva excel. He remains as the Good Samaritan sacrificing and getting satisfaction.

This is a film that perfectly caters to the family audience and a few of the situations are extreme for the present generation. Asking brothers to gulp poison and in the flashback Paramashiva cutting his head just because he made a promise to a cruel person not in tune with the present scenario.

A sister sentiment film and vengeance of sister family on brothers is the main focus. Suffering two times, sister character takes a strong decision in removing sacred Mangalasutra for the sake of brothers is the climax of the film.

Ravichandran in two roles has given controlled and dashing performances. As ‘Paramashiva’ punishing himself should have been debated with the team members. Sharanya Mohan gets top honors. Vijaya Raghavendra, Yashas as brothers are admirable. The character artist support is also adding value to the film. Ramesh Bhat as servant of the house is extremely good. Saakshi Shivanand and Rekha have nothing much to boast.

This139 minutes ‘Paramashiva’ also good in songs. Baruthale Rajakumar….sister sentiment song, Hege Nee Bandhe Ishtu Hattira…. And Hannagabeku Kaayi, Hennagabeku Thaayi….are well composed by Arjun Janya. Stunts handled in this film are impressive especially in the flashback portion.

Anaji Nagaraj wielding camera has not done anything extra ordinary.

Score – 7/10
