Know why 7 G Brindavan Colony is a big hit? Well ,according to A M Rathnam, the producer of the movie and the father of the hero Ravi Krishna, "it was true to life".

The reality, he adds, was close to everyone's heart.

Rathnam is obviously thrilled that the movie has been a commercial success in both Tamil and Telugu.

Rathnam was in Hyderabad a couple of days ago and made out a list for the film's good showing.

"It was realistic. It had good music. The songs were melodious and yet had a mass appeal. The direction was well focused. The heroine, Sonia Agarwal, was also a major factor. She came up with a very good performance," he enumerated.

The thing is Rathnam did not single out his son for any special praise.

Though Ravi Krishna, with his innocent and realistic portrayal of an impressionable youth, was a standout in the film, Rathnam did not spare any words for him.

It was not as if the father was not impressed. It was just that he was being graceful and polite. Rathnam knew that dad coming out in praise of his son sometimes rings hollow.

Ravi Krishan, for his part, understood that his dad's biggest vote of confidence was when he decided to make a film with him.
