For a long time, Bollywood had sidelined numerous talented artists who didn't fit the conventional image of a Bollywood star. However, this was before the OTT revolution changed the game for everyone and gave trained theatre actors a stage to shine. Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who became a star after starring in projects like 'Sacred Game' and 'Mirzapur', recently talked about significance of OTT on his career.

Answering what if OTT had come out earlier, Pankaj recently said, "Mujhe 47 saal ghoomna nahi padta. The best thing about OTT is that a writer invests in every single character. So, the audience remembers even the character whose track may last for just two episodes. OTT pehle hota toh meri dukaan shayad pehle hi khul gayi hoti aur ab tak toh showroom bann gayi hota.”

Sharing how OTT platforms prioritise talent above anything else, Pankaj stated, "Acting is paramount. Today, every talented actor is busy, which is such an amazing thing. Pehle cinema mein hero, heroine aur ek inspector hota tha. Ab toh yahaan par kayi inspector hain aur unke roles bhi likhe jaa rahe hain. It’s good to be busy with work on OTT.”

On the work front, Pankaj Tripathi is currently awaiting the release of his film 'Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga'.
