Ahead of the release of 'Pandem Kodi-2' on Oct 18, presenter Tagore Madhu talks about its strengths, why it will be a paisaa vasool entertainer and more.

Is this a perfect sequel? What is in store in the mass entertainer?

This should be called a perfect sequel. The entire story and treatment is based on the characters in the first part. The same emotion is carried and is taken to the next level in the sequel.

You don't choose to buy a Tamil movie to be dubbed in Telugu just like that. What attracted you to 'Pandem Kodi-2'?

I am a big fan of 'Pandem Kodi'. I love the hero's character in it a lot. In this film, the villain is bigger than the hero. One was skeptical whether it would work.

How do you assess director N Lingusamy, who is known for out-and-out mass entertainers?

Better than 'Pandem Kodi', Lingusamy has dealt with the sequel in a far better way. He has made it in such a way that it could turn out to be the best one in his career. He has designed every character so well. Even the script is better. If you describe the movie in terms of small incidents, the story is about how the hero finds a solution to the problem that has been persisting between two villages for decades.

Tell us about Vishal and Keerthy Suresh.

It's an emotional journey for Vishal. He has connected to the film personally. He had been showing special interest in the film right from the time he heard about it. He has worked really hard on it. Keerthy Suresh, too, has done a great job. The director has designed her character in a special way. She is fearless and his chirpy. Her activities and her answers trigger so much interest.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's character is crucial. How is her performance in the movie?

No matter how much you talk about Varalaxmi, it doesn't suffice. She worked really hard on the movie. She learned Telugu to dub for her character. We did try to enlist a few dubbing artists. But nobody could match her majesty. With Varalaxmi herself dubbing for the character, it finally got due elevation.

I watched the movie recently with my team. It will definitely impress all sections.

You are remaking NTR's 'Temper' in Tamil. Have you made any changes?

There are no major changes. But we have adopted a few sequences to suit the Tamil nativity. The remake is coming out really well. We are confident that it will be a big hit in Tamil.
