Thaman is back in the company of two lyricists. While Chandrabose has just one song to his credit, the remaining four are by Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar. The singers range from Deepak, Megha, Geetha Madhuri, M M Manasi, Simha and Thaman himself.
Life is Beautiful
Artists: Deepak, Rude, AK
Lyricist: Chandrabose
It's 'pandaga chesko' time, to be celebrated in a Tinglish mode. Chandrabose experiments with a mix of English and Telugu words and comes out with flying colours, as he should in a song titled 'Life is Beautiful'. Thaman delivers a song that is a passable fare. Nothing home to write about in terms of music and instrumentation, the celebratory song passes muster with good vocals from three voices.
Dorikaade Dorikaade
Artists: Megha
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar
The female-only song has lyrics by the formidable Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar, who is known to capture the mood of the item girl with remarkable Midas Touch of his own. Megha's vocals are bang on and are apt for a song of this genre. The lyrics are creative although there is nothing hum-worthy. Thaman should have added a lot of zing to add pep to the proceedings. All in all, the song may catch up if the picturization is fine.
Ye Pilla Pilla
Artists: Thaman S
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar
The number is a throwback to good number of hits. Thaman's mark is evident all through, with his voice adding all the more to the Thaman-esque feeling. One feels the conceptualization could have been better had the lyrics not been so banal. With all the references to Keeravani, AR Rehman, DSP and Thaman himself, the song is sans creative imagination. So, the lyricist could have been better in terms of the imagination, so also the musician, who delivers a rather insipid tuning.
Chuda Sakkagunnave
Artists: MM Manasi, Thaman S
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar
Now this song is a tribute to the Telugu-looking Telugu belle. Of course, Bhaskarabhatla chips in with his usual naughty lyrics just to make sure that the song doesn't lose its mass-y taste. MM Manasi comes with the right vocals, while Thaman could have enlisted someone better for this song. The song works in terms of tuning and instrumentation. Much depends on how the song comes through in terms of the celluloid avatar. The beats do have that Thaman signature.
Pandaga Chesko
Artists: Simha, Geetha Madhuri, Anjana
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar
It is time again to get into jamboree mode, evidenced by the very title, which is the film's title too. Simha has the right kind of voice to add life to a song of this genre. Geetha Madhuri's redoubtable ability to breeze through such songs needs no introduction. Bhaskarabhatla gives lyrics that smack of the vintage mode. Thaman sets the song to a tune that has the trappings of a hall-time hit.
Verdict: It is the combination of 'Kandireega' all over again. Thaman and Ram are back and it is at least mini Pandaga for us.
