Panchamrutha Review

Cinema making is not just reading a simple story book. The captivating narration, lively moments, taking the audience with surprises, romance, tragedy, comedy, action etc constitute a commercial venture.

In 1975 Katha Sangama by director SR Puttanna Kanagal starring Rajanikanth (current Tamil superstar) Arathi and others have acted in this movie. Recently VK Prakash Kannada film 'Aidondla Aidhu' a film with five subjects in Kannada won a few awards.

In a stiffly contested battle in the box office the lethargic style of narration is what shoots trouble for 'Panchamrutha'. There is an experiment of clubbing six stories in one film = all of them not relating and every story is narrated in 20 plus minutes goes waste because most of the stories do not offer anything new. Thus, the effort goes waste.

'Kshamayadaritri, Ondhu Kanasu, Droha, Savi Nenapu, Samarasave Jeevana, Nambike' appear one after the other.

Mistaking the loyalty of her husband the woman who joins her husband is 'Kshamayadaritri' essayed by Pooja Gandhi and Raghu Mukerjee.

In Ondhu Kanasu the strict father who is living a poor life decline to stay with family members on Deepavali festival because the overtime work would fetch him Rs.200. The children place the collections they have in a small way to retain the father on the festival day of course touching.

In Savi Nenapu, the protagonist remains in fond memories marrying another person, in Droha it is betrayal of wife with her husband friend. In Samarasave Jeevana the aim to make it big via earning deserved hard work for that protagonist Dilipraj discard his wife Neethu for one year but joins again.

In the last bunch is Nambike - trust that is very important is focused. Caught by the police Purushottam alias Srinagara Kitty begs for one day stay with family members. He returns honestly the next day and surrender to police and shows trust is important.

Srinagara Kitty, Dilipraj, Achyuth Kumar stand out for brilliant performance. Neethu looks very fat, Pooja Gandhi in close up is not good, Raghu Mukerjee fails to impress, Yagna Shetty is not properly given a chance, Devaraj is OK.

Music from Ashley Abhilash deserved to be better, cinematography by Mahendran is not up to the mark. Director TN Nagesh in a hurricane preparation has not concentrated on the quality in technicality.

It is not compelling!
