Pan-Indian is a disrespectful word: Siddharth

Actor Siddharth, who was last year seen in 'Maha Samudram', has opined that the word 'pan-Indian' is a nonsensical usage. He doesn't want the term to be used for any regional film when Bollywood films are called Indian films in a dignified manner.
It means that you don't have to qualify Hindi films with any word, but if it is coming from regional cinema, they are not just regional films but they are pan-Indian. That is nonsense! All films are Indian films, the 'Bommarillu' actor has been quoted as saying by IANS.
There is so much brouhaha over the word 'pan-Indian' although the word totally makes sense for multi-lingual releases. 'Indian' and 'pan-Indian' can't be used interchangeably. A Bhojpuri film that releases in just one language is an Indian film but not a pan-Indian film. A Telugu original that gets dubbed in 5 major languages and gets released on thousands of screens across India is a pan-Indian film. 'Acharya' is an Indian film. 'RRR' is an Indian plus pan-Indian film.
When Bollywood makes multi-lingual releases, its films, too, are going to be called pan-Indian. 'Brahmastra', starring Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt, is already being called pan-Indian.
