Writer-director Blessy is hopeful of continuing his good run in Malluwood with his forthcoming venture Palunku.

According to the director, the movie zooms into the life of a farmer (Monichan) played by Mammootty who stays with his family in a remote village in Idukki.

How the modern day brings changes in his life forms the crux of the movie.

Playing the lead role is Mammootty. According to Mammootty, 'The incidents narrated in the film could have happened to anyone and that make it a relevant film. It was indeed a challenging role and all credit should go to Blessy for coming up with an engrossing storyline. Blessy has opted for a new actor as the film's heroine. Lakshmi Sharma, a model from Hyderabad is introduced by Blessy in the movie'.

The cast includes Nedumudi Venu and Thampi Antony. Produced by Howli Pottur and music by Mohan Sithara, Palunku will grace theatres this Christmas.
