Pakistani opener Fakhar Zaman became the first to score a double century in One Day International cricket from his country. He achieved the feat today in the 4th ODI against a clueless bowling attack of Zimbabwe who were thrashed in the previous three matches with Zaman scoring a century in the second and a half century in the first.
Fakhar Zaman also shared a record triple century opening partnership with Imam Ul Haq who registered 113 runs before holing out. The previous best for Pakistan was the 194 scored by Saeed Anwar against India in Chennai in 1997 and it has taken twenty one years for one of his countrymen to cross the magical milestone of 200. At the time of this writing Pakistan finished their innings at 399/1 giving the Zimbabwaens a nightmarish 400 to get and they have only one innings to do it!
