Late on Tuesday night, the Indian Army issued a statement about a "major escalation" along the Line Of Control after 6:30 pm. As per the statement, Pak initiated an unprovoked shelling with heavy-calibre weapons at more than 12 places.
The Indian Army retaliated strongly and, due to focussed firing, Pakistan's five posts were destroyed. There were also casualties for the neighbouring country.
"Pak troops were also seen firing mortars and missiles from civilian houses, using villagers as human shields. However, the Indian Army targeted Pak posts away from civilian localities," the statement says.
Five of our soldiers suffered minor injuries.
