Shriya Saran is pretty much confident about 'Paisaa Vasool' living up to its title. While refusing to give cliched answers, the Gautamiputra Satakarni` talent raises interest in the Sept 1 release.
The Trailer of 'Paisaa Vasool' and its genre make one wonder if all that is in store if 'masala' entertainment. What is your take?
The film is both emotional and fun. Teaming up with Puri Jagannadh had been my wish. He is chilled out and relaxed, thus he was a pleasure to work with.
From what can be seen in the promos, you seem to be playing a playful, irreverent character in the movie.
She (her character) is a journalist, who is casual and strong (from inside). What is her journey, and what problems she faces and what tryst she has with Theda Singh (Balakrishna) is narrated in an interesting manner.
Is the film a one-man show of Balayya?
It's his film. His character is central. That said, Puri's women characters have their own strength.
How was it transforming from the queen of 'GPSK' to the journo of 'PV'?
The aforementioned films are totally different in terms of their backdrops, the eras, the characters, etc. Each is an experience in itself. Balakrishna's energy levels are fabulous. Teaming up with him always feels great.
In what sense may the title Paisa Vasool' be justified?
I wouldn't do that. It is a commercial entertainer with a very strong story is all I would say for now.
Besides 'Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu', what other interesting projects are you doing?
I am teaming up with a 23-year-old director, whose film will be a psychological thriller.
