KJ Yesudas and Shankar Mahadevan get second and third highest civilian honours

Veteran film and carnatic singer K.J.Yesudas will be getting the Padma Vibhushan. the second highest Civilian Honour of the Indian Government.

The list of Padma Awardees for the year 2017 has been announced by the Government on the eve of 67th Republic Day of the nation.

This will the Third Padma Award for the iconic singer. He has won the Padma Shri in 1975 and Padma Bhushan in 2000.

Popular singer and music director Shankar Mahadevan will get a Padma Bhushan Award. This will be his first Padma Award.

Veteran actor, theatre personality and political satirist Cho Ramaswamy who passed away in December last year will be honoured with the Padma Bhushan.
