Padma Kumuta passes away, heart attack on sets of Mahanadi

Actress in character roles shot in to fame from Chomana Dudi` of 1975 Padma Kumuta passed away on Monday of a massive heart attack. She fell down on the floors of her television serial shooting of Mahanadi`, the quick remedy given by her team members headed by Shruthi Naidu could not save the life of over 42 years of acting career actress. When she was in teens took up the national award winning Chomana Dudi`. Padma Kumuta received the laurels for her performance in that film. It was tragic story of Choma, the untouchable. It is in this film of director BV Karanth, Padma Kumuta played the role of Belli`, she falls in love with Manvela and later raped by estate owner. Chomana Dudi` won Swarna Kamal award and MV Vasudeva Rao who played Choma got the first national award for Kannada film at the national level.

Padma Kumuta acted in films such as Bayalu Daari, Phalitamsha, Arivu, Cauvery Tiradalli, Bevu Bella, Belli Moda, Sarkarakke Savaal, Prithvi Raj, Devatha Manushya, Shiva Mechchida Kannappa and others.

After the mega serial boon in TV industry, actress like Padma Kumuta got a feel at home opportunity. She was much known for sober and serious roles. The Mangalya` TV serial in which Padma Kumuta acted was on air for ten years in one of the satellite channels.

She was mother of two daughters and one son. The Kannada cinema and TV industry are shocked with the demise of such a talented actress.
