It's known that former ISRO Scientist Nambi Narayanan has been crowned Padma Bhushan. The high civilian honour comes to him months after the judiciary awarded him compensation for the injustice suffered at the hands of conspirators in the 1990s. Nambi was falsely accused of spying and selling state secrets in 1994. He was arrested and investigated in a malicious espionage case. The illustrious man lost his career due to a political witchhunt.
Not only was the highly talented scientist arrested, he was also tortured to extract false statements. Every single charge against him has been proven to be false. Nambi recently rejected compensation and said that those who destroyed his career should be punished.
Reacting to the Government of India conferring the award on him, Nambi today said, "I am happy. I became a victim of spying, I became more popular in that sense, in a way people started sympathizing with me. This award gives me a feeling that my contribution has been recognized."
