Padikathavan

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

It would be an action-packed and entertaining Pongal for Dhanush fans as their favorite hero's `Padikathavan', a titled inspired by Rajinikanth's yesteryear hit, would be releasing in cinema halls.

With back-to-back hits in `Thiruvilayadal Arambam' and `Yaradi Nee Mohini', Dhanush is optimistic of scoring a hat-trick with `Padikathavan'.

After a big hit in 'Marudhamalai', director Suraj chose to work with Dhanush and he has the duo have made it a wholesome entertaining film. Speaking about the film,

Suraj says, 'It is an out-an-out typical Dhanush film. It would everything a hardcore fan of Dhanush would love for. There is an overdose of comedy and Vivek in the company of Dhanush will bring the roof down with laughter'.

'Tamanna is youthful and exuberant on screen. Equally impressive have been Atul Kulkarni and Suman. On the whole the project is entertaining and enthralling'

`Padikathavan' is the story of a youth, who is bad in his academics and the problems and insults that he face in his family. Dhanush plays the youth, which boy-next-door looks. He comes across Tamanna, who plays an aeronautics student. The encounter between them is the story. Suman plays Tamanna's father. Atul Kulkarni and Shayaji Shinde are also in the cast.

'To be presented by Sun Pictures, 'Padikathavan' would have everything for people to enjoy. Manisharma's music is a major plus', Suraj said and added, 'quite like my `Marudhamalai', everything in `Padikathavan' would be breezy and we have not tried impose anything on the audience'.

Dhanush is elated to be part of the whole team. It is a good commercial entertainer. I have given my best and it is up to the audience to make it click, he said. Hopefully I score a hat-trick with the movie's success, he added.

The movie, produced by Vijaya Productions has been taken over Sun Pictures. Set to open in several hundred screens this Pongal, `Padikathavan' is sure to rock, say avid Dhanush fans.
