Rafi-Mecartin sure know that laughter is the best medicine. And to provide high doses of it, they think Dileep is just about the right man. We saw this 'laughter doctor', so to speak, in Punjabi House and Thenkasipattinam under Rafi-Mecartin.
And Pandipada is no different. It is a comic riot that is as good as it lasts. If you are in a mood for some unbridled laughter that does not strain your brain too much, then Pandipada is perhaps the film for you.
The film is all about the troubles of a small-time real estate dealer Bhuvan (Dileep). He lurches from one trouble to another. And he gets into a big soup when he buys a property in the neighboring Tamil Nadu. His fond hope of selling it off fast runs a ground as it is a disputed property and two big wigs Karuppusamy(Rajan.P Dev) and Pandi Dorai (Prakash Raj) are fighting for it.
Bhuvan and his partner Bhasi (Ashokan) manage to infiltrate into Pandi Durai's household and win their confidence. But the twist is that Karuppusamy's daughter Meena (Navya Nair) falls in love with Bhuvan.
But Pandi Dorai has an eye on her.
It is a typical situation for some mad lark and Dileep uses it as only he can. The fun that he brings along Harisri Asokan, Salim Kumar and Cochin Haneefa are indeed superb.
Prakash Raj is efficient as only he can and the rest of the cast are also good. Suresh Peters music fits the bill.
Rafi-Mecartin, on the whole, have shown that laughing is good for the health --- the film's, that is.
