The beep song controversy is looming large as police summons have been sent to actor-singer Silambarasan and music director Anirudh Ravichander who are alleged to be behind its making.

The song has raised severe condemnation from not just women rights activists and social media users, but also the people within Kollywood film industry. Many have raised strong objection to the usage of cuss words in the song as they are demeaning the womankind.

National award winning lyricist Pa.Vijay "People raising their voice against the beep song should not stop it in a day or two. They should continuously oppose this song for its demeaning lyrics. All independent songs like this should be censored like the songs in films. That would be the best tool to prevent songs like these."

Ace lyrics Vairamuthu who has not yet listened to the beep song has said that writers and lyricist should be extremely cautious in their use of words as they have a social responsibility to not mislead others.

Another veteran lyricist Gangai Amaren who won the national award for his first song 'Senthoorapoove' in '16 Vayathinile' has also condemned the beep song for its objectionable content. "This (releasing songs with vulgar lines) should be nipped on the bud. Otherwise many others will start releasing such songs"
