Of late, shaming women on stage has become quite common, and after the recent incident involving Nayanthara and Radharavi, with the latter speaking in a distasteful manner on the actress, recently producer K Rajan made threatening comments on singer Chinmayi.
During an audio launch event held recently, K Rajan had said that Vairamuthu has brought fame to Tamil and Chinmayi has been accusing him of something that happened before 15 years, and if she’s trying to do something for cheap publicity, he has people who can destroy her, making it a case of open threat to her.
Following this, director Pa. Ranjith came on stage, and openly condemned and opposed K Rajan’s views. Ranjith said that one can’t deny the fact that women are exploited and abused in the industry, and when women like Sri Reddy make accusations, rather than seeing them as accusations, proper investigations must be made, and just because a woman makes a complaint, she can’t be called a victim or one at mistake, concluding that he opposes what was said by K Rajan. This instant, fitting response from Pa.Ranjith has been received well in the film fraternity
