Director Pa Ranjith is an acclaimed filmmaker in Tamil cinema. His 'Sarpatta Parambarai', released on Amazon Prime Video, became a maverick hit. It was already known that he completed the romantic film 'Natchathiram Nagargirathu' now and is all set to direct Vikram in 'Chiyaan 61' next.

Pa Ranjith is currently enjoying his time in France as he took part in the Cannes International Film Festival 2022. The hot news is that Pa Ranjith announced a new movie amid his other projects and revealed the first look of the same at the Cannes event. Pa Ranjith's upcoming venture is called 'Vettuvam', which means the hunted.

'Vettuvam' is a linked film and series. It revolves around a rural gangster, a modern-day Robinhood who surrenders to cops to evade his enemies, only to land in a prison which is even worse. Set mostly in the prison, Vettuvam will focus on the protagonist's fight against injustice.

'Vettuvam' movie will arrive first, followed by the series. The team targets a 2023 release. This project is bankrolled by Golden Ratio Films in association with Neelam Productions. On the work front, Pa Ranjith and Vikram's 'Chiyaan 61' will start rolling in July 2022.
