Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' has not only created sensation among the film industry but also amidst the political fraternity. Big names like Kapil Sibal and Rahul gandhi have voiced out their support for 'Mersal'.

Talking about the issue, P.Chidambaram had quipped in his social page that one should not be surprised if the government made it madatory to make films that propagate it only in good light.

Opposing his statements, central minister Pon Radhakrishnan gave it back saying that propagating false messages in films is wrong and it was inapprpriate to compare India with Singapore. He also went a step ahead by inducing mockery asking if Chidambaram had financed 'Mersal'.

Chidambram has voiced out a befitting reply that anyone who pays for the ticket to watch the movie is in a way financing the movie and that he too might soon do the same.
