Speaking at the audio launch of 'Oxygen' on Monday, Gopichand described his upcoming film as a family entertainer coming with a message.
He described AM Rathnam, the film's producer, as a passionate maker. "There are producers. Then there are those with passion for cinema among them. Rathnam garu is not business-minded. I have seen him since childhood. He is a good human being first. When Jyothi (AM Jyothi Krishna, Rathnam's son) told me the story of this film, I liked it a lot. I called up Rathnam garu and told him that I will do this film only if he produces it. And he has made this film without compromising on anything," Gopichand said.
"As soon as I listened to the story, I knew that Jyothi will become a good director after 'Oxygen'. He was ably assisted by our two cinematographers, without whose help the film wouldn't have come out this well. Chota K Naidu garu was of immense help to Jyothi, who is doing this film after a long gap," the actor said.
"I had always wanted to work with Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has got many musical hits to his credit. With 'Oxygen', I am glad that my wish to work with him has been fulfilled. I cherish working with Jagapathi Babu garu. Ali and I have an engaging track in the movie. Almost all the films in our combination have been hits. Raashi Khanna and Anu Emmanuel have done a fine job. Selva's fights are great," he signed off.
