AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, addressing a political rally in Uttar Pradesh, hit out at Pakistan for commenting on the Hijab row in India. He asked the neighbouring country to worry about its own backyard instead of poking its nose in the affairs of India.
In his speech, Owaisi said that Pakistan doesn't allow a non-Muslim to become Prime Minister. By saying so, the Hyderabad MP suggested that India is far more tolerant, unlike the theocratic Pak.
Owaisi also referred to the internal conflicts in Pak. "Look at Balochistan. This country is our country. This is our internal affair," he added.
The video clip has gone viral and many Netizens are welcoming his views. "Not a big fan of Owaisi, but this is exactly the kind of left nationalism India needs. Reject the globalist critiques/cabal/validation, embrace civic nationalism, and then flip the debate on the right internally," wrote Vashishtha Doshi, a Twitter user.
AIMIM is contesting the UP Assembly elections. Ground reports suggest that Muslims are consolidating behind SP and Owaisi's party is putting a big flop show.
