Actress Oviya had made her debut in Tamil cinema with Kalavani directed by Sargunam and co-starring Vemal, and the actress went on to act in several popular movies like Kalakalappu, Marina, Moodar Koodam, Madha yaanai Koottam and also many Malayalam movies.

Oviya had become extremely popular after participating as a contestant in the first season of Kamal Haasan's Bigg Boss reality game show, and her unique attitude in the show fighting against contestants like Gayathri Raghuram and Sakthi. The actress was last seen in Lawrence's Kanchana 3.
