Over the past few days, the news of fake PAN(Personal Account Number) Cards are being issued in multiple numbers to one individual, which are scamming their way into the general public to avoid the tax-due. A number of cases were reported on the account of submitting irrelevant and fake e-documents for the allotment of PAN cards all over India.

To check if yours is an authentic card, you have to check your card with the official site of the PAN Utility service and enter the relevant information, get verified and you`re good to go.

Here`s How:

1) Visit Income Tax e-filing website.

2) Click on Know Your PAN` on the home page itself.

3) On the “Know your PAN” page, enter your surname, first name, PAN status, gender, Date of Birth and the mobile number used to register the PAN card.

4) The system will send an OTP to the registered mobile number and the page will ask for the same to validate.

5) If your PAN card is valid, it will be shown as “Active”.

If your PAN is registered with multiple numbers, then the message will show that the PAN is active in multiple numbers and you need to either renew or add more details to filter your card out. (according to the options displayed)
