Actor Mohanlal has finally backed out of Rajinikanth's mega project Sivaji.
It is learnt that Mohanlal has decided to not star in Sivaji and rather continue with his assignments in Malluwod.
It was reported that director Shankar tried desperately to get Amitabh Bachchan play an important role in Sivaji. When he fell ill, they approached Mohanlal, who is also a familiar face in Kollywood.
Though Mohanlal expressed his pleasure to be part of the movie, a difference of opinion over the remuneration being offered had forced the actor to back out from the project.
Now sources close to Sivaji Unit say, Rajinikanth's close friend and popular Telugu actor Mohan Babu might play the role.
