Por Thozhil (Tamil) on Sony Liv: An arresting whodunnit thriller made by debutant Vignesh Raja with Sarathkumar, Ashok Selvan and Nikhila Vimal in the lead roles. The film revolves around the hunt for a menacing serial killer. Releasing on August 11.
Maaveeran (Tamil) on Prime Video: National Award-winning director Madonne Ashwin's fantasy entertainer starring Sivakarthikeyan, Mysskin and Aditi Shankar. It chronicles how Sathya, a timid cartoonist, transforms into a fearless hero and takes over the world with the help of a mystery voice. Debuts on August 11.
Vaan Moondru (Tamil) on Aha: A feel-good drama that revolves around the romance between these six characters, that transcends age and other norms. It has Ammu Abhirami, Aditya Badekar, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Vinoth Kishan, Leela Samson and Delhi Ganesh in the lead roles. Streams on August 11.
Spider-Man Across The Spiderverse (English) on Prime Video: Sony's latest animated spectacle based on Marvel's Spider-Man aka Miles Morales. The film is also a direct sequel to the 2018 blockbuster 'Into the Spider-Verse'. It debuted on August 8 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, English and many more languages.
Heart of Stone (English) on Prime Video: This is Alia Bhatt's debut Hollywood film also starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. The action espionage thriller movie revolves around a secret spy agency, that gears up to get the most valuable and dangerous asset from a criminal mastermind. Releases on August 11.
Made in Heaven Season 2 (Hindi) on Prime Video: A romantic drama series that chronicles the lives of Tara and Karan, two wedding planners in Delhi running an agency named Made in Heaven. Starring Arjun Mathur and Sobhitha Dhulipala in the lead roles, the second season lands on August 10.
Padmini (Malayalam) on Netflix: An acclaimed romance and comedy drama starring Kunchacko Boban, Madonna Sebastian and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles. Directed by Senna Hegde, the movie is set to make its digital debut on August 11.
Neymar (Malayalam) on Hotstar: An endearing comedy-drama about friendship starring Mathew Thomas, Naslen, Johny Antony, Deva Nandha and others. Directed by Sudhi Maddison, it is streaming since August 8 on Disney+ Hotstar.
Hidimbha (Telugu) on Aha: Ashwin Babu and Nandita Swetha starrer crime thriller directed by Aneel Kanneganti. It revolves around two special police officers investigating serial abductions of girls wearing Red coloured clothes. Coming to Aha on August 10.
Commando (Hindi) on Hotstar: An action thriller series starring Adah Sharma and Vaibhav Tatwawadi in the lead roles. Created by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, it debuts on Disney+ Hotstar on August 11.
The Fabelmans (English) on Sony Liv: It is a semi-autobiographical film based on the world-renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg directed by himself. It stars Paul Dano, Michelle Williams, Gabriel LaBelle and others. Streams on August 11.
Pending Train (Japanese) on Netflix: A new series that narrates the tales of its passengers when they suddenly find themselves fighting for their very survival after their train car jumps into an apocalyptic future. Releases on August 11.
Pain Killer (English) on Netflix: A limited-drama series based on the birth of the opioid crisis with an emphasis on Purdue Pharma, the manufacturer of OxyContin. The six-episode show streams on August 10.
The Kashmir Files Unreported (Hindi) on Zee5: A documentary series directed by filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri that claims to investigate the history of the Kashmir conflict based on data gathered before the making of his controversial movie, The Kashmir Files. Coming on August 11.
