The rise of OTT platforms have changed the world of entertainment in many ways and since it has grown up as a medium parallel to cinema, there are often debates about which one is better and how they can coexist. Several actors have favoured OTTs since they give opportunities to underrated actors and new ideas and the recent one to join the list is Richa Chadda.
The brilliant actress talked about how the medium dominated the industry in a short time and why is it important. She was quoted by Koimoi, "All those who said that OTT can’t replace films are now scouting and running around to make OTT projects and expedite. OTT is the present and the future and it will keep evolving and expanding. With the entry of global giants into India, I think the overall standard of series will only improve.”
Richa went on to give examples of skilled actors who have benefitted from the OTT shows and movies. "It has brought a lot of amazing talent – like Prateik Gandhi, Jaideep Ahlawat and, (has) given the audience a chance to view their favourite actors like Shefali Shah and Manisha Koirala in newer roles. This is not to say that the cinema experience is now a thing of the past. No. I believe both will co-exist," said Richa.
