Oscar winning Sound Engineer Resul Pookutty`s work in Sivakarthikeyan`s latest blockbuster Remo` one of the big highlights of the film. Not only the makeup team and Sivakarthikeyan`s efforts but also Resul s sound design is being hailed for the authentic presentation of the Remo character which is a man disguised as a woman.
In the success party of Remo`, Resul Pookutty had said that working on Remo` was more challenging than Slumdog Millionaire` for which he won the Academy award.
In his exclusive interview to IndiaGlitz, Resul explained how creating Remo`s voice was a herculean task and how it was pulled off with the tremendous dedication of Sivakarthikeyan.
"To make Remo believable she needed to sound right. Siva, Raja and me sat together and decided we should not do certain things. One we will not make him imitate a girl, we will not dub it with another actress, we will use Shiva, we will make him perform like the way he is and I will technically change it into a female voice. That is a huge huge task. Sound is very intangible. It is a huge task like putting a makeup for the sound.
The are technical problems, challenges, we understood as a team. I will credit hugely to Siva`s dedication in making Remo the way it is now in theatres. Of course we all worked together but that boy`s dedication is incomparable. We had to dub the film at least four times because we used many softwares we used many plug-ins we also used voice transformers while we are dubbing the film. It involved a lot of trial and error processes. To dub every dialogue of a film three four times is not a easy task for an actor and I credit Siva for such a dedication.
We dubbed till 25th of September. For the old man getup also we used voice transformation technique and that was an amazing work from Siva."
