South Korean Film 'Parasite' directed by 'Bong Joon Ho' won four major awards - Best Screenplay, Best Foreign Film, Best Director and Best Picture at the 92nd Academy Awards. As movie-buffs around the world are celebrating the historic moment, the fans of Kollywood actor Vijay believe that Bong Joon Ho’s film is inspired by the 1999 superhit 'Minsara Kanna'.

'Minsara Kanna' is on the premise of the wealthy boy who pretends to be hailing from a poor background and gets employed with a rich family to win his lady love. The 1999 Tamil film 'Minsara Kanna' featured Vijay and Monica Castelino in the lead roles along with Rambha, Khushbu, Karan, Mannivannan, Mansoor Ali Khan in supporting roles.
On the other side, 'Parasite' is a black comedy thriller film about a poor family of four who slowly ingratiate themselves into the lives of a wealthy family for economic benefits like a parasite.
