57-year-old Academy Award winning actor Nicolas Cage got married for the fifth time to his 26-year-old girlfriend Riko Shibata at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas on February 16. The news was confirmed by the actor's representative Shannon Barr to media.
The wedding was reportedly a small and intimate ceremony. "The date was chosen to honor the birthday of the groom’s late father. They exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry from Walt Whitman and Haiku sprinkled in. After the wedding, the happy couple was joined for a small celebration attended by Nicolas' ex-wife, Alice (who he remains very good friends with) and their son Kal," Cage's representative was quoted as saying. While the 26-year-old wore a handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from Kyoto, Nicolas Cage wore a Tom Ford tux. The Oscar winner was previously married to Erika Kookie for four days in March 2019, to actress Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, to Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004, and to Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016.
Nicolas Cage first announced his engagement to Riko Shibata in August on his brother's radio show. "She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan and I went back to Nevada and I haven't seen her for six months. We're really happy together and we're really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said , 'Look, I wanna marry you' and we got engaged on FaceTime," the actor had revealed. "Her favorite color is black so she wanted the black gold, and the black diamond. I customized and personalized it and I actually sent it to her Fedex. So we are engaged but we don't have a date because of the world we live in currently. I'm hopeful… I would love to have a really beautiful Shinto wedding," he added.
