'Orey Bujjiga' is getting a solid response: Vijay Kumar Konda
Send us your feedback to audioarticles@vaarta.com
'Orey Bujjiga', starring Raj Tarun, Malavika Nair and others, is out on Aha. Director Vijay Kumar Konda, who has previously made 'Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde' and 'Oka Laila Kosam', is admittedly 200% happy with all the positive feedback that he has been getting since its release on October1.
Excerpts from his latest interaction with the media:
What kind of reactions are you getting to the film?
We have billed 'Orey Bujjiga' as an out-and-out entertainer right from the beginning. The comedy is working with the audience. Although I was very disappointed that our film missed a theatrical release due to lockdown, I am also glad that it is premiering on Aha to a nice response.
Your lead men have always been entertaining. Where do you seek your inspiration to write hilarious characters?
There is no inspiration as such. I am all for fun that doesn't necessarily adhere to logical rules. My hero Bujji (Raj Tarun) is like your neighborhood boy next door. I am glad the actor came on board. I couldn't think of anybody else after I wrote the story. As for Malavika Nair, she too is entertaining. It was on the advice of my team that I roped her in. She has pulled off the performance-oriented role that has got a variety of emotions quite well.
How was it being associated with producer KK Radhamohan?
He gave me all the liberty to make the film as I deemed fit once the script was locked. The quality that you are seeing in the film is because of the freedom that I got and the producer's commitment.
Why were you not seen around after 'Oka Laila Kosam'?
I was supposed to do a film with an actor, but the project got cancelled for some reason. After this, I focused my attention on 'Orey Bujjiga'. I resolved to give my best come what may.
Your upcoming movie, too, is going to be with Raj Tarun. Tell us about that.
It's a genre neither I nor Raj Tarun has tried in the past. It's a suspenseful drama with a love story. The film is yet to be titled and it is already on the floors.
All your films have had music by Anup Rubens. Why so?
I am quite comfortable with him and his wavelength matches mine. I have continued my journey with him because he gives me the best.
You are also doing a Telugu-Kannada bilingual with 'Jaguar' actor Nikhil Kumaraswamy. Tell us about that.
Nikhil Kumaraswamy (son of former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy) is doing a nice job in the film, whose production works are done to the tune of 50%. I am very proud that I got the offer from Sandalwood.
