Operation Duryodhana
There have been any number of scandals in Indian political history. But what came out of the now famous Operation Duryodhana, a sting operation on the MPs of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha by Cobra Post (a media organisation), was one of the most earth shattering moments in Indian history. The sting operation exposed the Mps as accepting money to raise questions in parliament. It was a shameful but tumultuous chapter in Indian political history.
When this intriguing episode forms the backdrop of the film, it has to be very interesting. And director Posani Krishnamurali promises just that. `Make no mistake, it will be a non-stop events-filled entertainer with high-voltage drama,' he says.
Srikanth plays the hero. The man has taken this role pretty seriously. A fact confirmed by his changing his get-up for the role. Srikanth, who generally does middle-class man roles without any apparent change in his body, has gone out of the way to look the part of his character. He has cut his hair and sports a new menacing look.
Produced by Aman International Movies of Posani Krishnamurali himself, the film has Kalyani, coming out a hiatus, playing the heroine. Glamour baby Mumaith Khan has a vital part to play. Nagababu plays another important character.
Posani says that the film has many explosive segments with the political parties being under scrutiny. He is full of admiration for the way Srikanth has worked himself for the role.
Srikanth as given continuous dates for the film and has stopped in acting in other movies till this is complete. He is said to have double character of a politician and a cop. Kalyani plays his wife. Mumaith Khan is a politician in the film.
Srikanth himself is happy with the film and his role. `This is once in a lifetime character. I am very happy to have got it. You will see a new Srikanth in this'.
Posani is not afraid that the film, with its sensitive political portions, will run into censor trouble.
We have given our best, now it is up to the public, Posani says.
The film releases in the last week of March.
