Muppalaneni Siva is a delighted man these days.

The gritty director of such hits like Raja, Taj Mahal, Gilligajjalu, feels that his Sankranthi, slated for release on February 18th, has all the makings of a compulsive hit.

Talking about the film, the veteran director, who is not new to either Venakatesh and Srikanth, the two main heroes of Sankranthi, said that the film had indeed shaped up well.

"This family drama whose center point is the power of joint living has all the elements that will appeal to all," he said.

Winding up the shooting yesterday after a final song involving Srikanth and the now-in-demand Sangeetha, the director said all the songs, set to tune by S A Rajkumar, has also come out very well.

For Sangeetha, this is an important film. Long side-lined playing insignificant roles, she got a vital breakthrough in Sivaputrudu. After that, this is an important for her.

She is playing a character, wife of Srikanth in the film, that is very pivotal to the intrinsic knot in the story. "It has a negative shade," Sangeetha says about the character.

Her shenanigans leads to frisson in the family.

Srikanth is also happy that he has got another typical role.

He plays the younger brother to Venky who is the bulwark of the family.
