For the Kannada cinema industry Ooty` is not only a wonderful shooting spot, it is also known for controversies. There was commotion to Dr Rajakumar decades ago when his film was shooting. That resulted in chaos all over Karnataka. Later Ooty` was associated with Cauvery Riots.

A Kannada film Ooty` with backdrop of Tamil Nadu, Kerala is the dream of director Mahesh Kumar to direct a film. The film has background of Cauvery water trouble days of early 1990. The film in the outset is based on Prithiya Arasi` novel penned by Dr Krishnamurthy Chamaram.

Music director Raj Bhasker 25th composition stars Avinash Narasimharaju and actresss Naina plays Malayali Christian in this film.

Ooty by Parivarthana Productions is producer H Mohan Kumar. Selvam M is cameraman, NM Vishwa editing, Mysuru Raju and Jaggu dance, Vikram Singh stunts etc. Mata Guruprasad, BM Giriraj, Kailash and others are in the cast.
