It's known that Pawan Kalyan went to Lucknow on Wednesday, accompanied by some analysts and a team from the Osmania University. He was scheduled to meet with Mayawati, the BSP leader.

Turns out that the Jana Sena chief didn't get her appointment. As reported by a national daily, the former Uttar Pradesh CM was "unavailable". As a result, Power Star had to make do with some BSP leaders.

It's not yet clear what all Pawan discussed with Mayawati's men, but reports suggest that he was there to impress upon the pro-Dalit party for an alliance with Jana Sena in the Telugu States. Pawan's keenness on patching up a "Kapu-Dalit alliance" is now clear, some analysts opine.

It would have been great optics had Pawan got to meet with Mayawati.

Meanwhile, Pawan has asked his party cadres to not become over-confident after the success of the recent Kavathu. He used a Telugu proverb to tell them that one swallow doesn't make a summer.
