YVS Choudhary insists there wouldn't have been 'Okka Magadu', if the project wouldn’t have enticed Balakrishna. He says the inspiration for the story came during the shooting of Seetaiah, which has a song that starts off as Okka magadu…

Ever since, he had worked on the script and when he took the story to Balakrishna, he is said to have liked it instantly.

Big films happen when the stars like what the directors take to them, says Choudhary and adds that the timing should be perfect though.

The trick is to give them what they expect at the right time, he adds.

However, had Balakrishna refused doing the film, he says the script would have gone into cold storage as he could not visualize anyone but him in the role.
