SENS: A Special Show for Special Minds, an initiative under the "Cinema for Everyone" concept by SPI cinemas, intends to create a more inclusive movie viewing environent, catering to the needs of the differently abled. The first Sunday of August marks the one-year anniversary of SENS.
"The SENS shows, now a regular feature every first Sunday at Sathyam Cinemas, has gained interest and popularity with every screening and has become more like a movie club that kids and parents look forward to every month. The range of films screened vary from The Jungle Book and Rio to Superstar's 2.0 and Petta, depending on what’s currently playing that’s suitable. Also made available for the screening is a specially curated menu of delicious snacks that is sugar free, gluten free and casein free," according to the website.
"We are very passionate about "Cinema for Everyone" and are delighted to complete a very successful one year of SENS. For an individual with special needs, accessing many public spaces can be challenging. Sometimes making really simple changes or providing an additional resource can make the world of difference and help create a more inclusive environment. That's what we aim to do through SENS and we thank everyone who supported us through this journey. We look forward to extending this across other properties in the coming year," says Swaroop Reddy, Director of SPI Cinemas.
The celebration of the first anniversary of SENS will be happening this Sunday (August 4). Disney's 'The Lion King' will be screened at 10:30 am at Seasons along with some fun activities.
