One more romantic comedy from Yashraj banner

He is the latest addition to the new genre of young and promising directors that the Yashraj banner is patronising these days and, like his other counterparts, director Siddharth Anand is thoroughly prepared for his debut, "Salaam Namaste".

The Saif-Preity-Arshad Warsi starrer is a romantic comedy, says Siddharth, which explores how casually youngsters tend to take it these days. Is it an extension of "Hum Tum"? "No way. 'Hum Tum' was a little more mature but this one is an effervescent, romantic story," he says.

It's been well over six months since Siddharth, who also happens to be Tinnu Anand's nephew, conceived the idea of the film, reports Bollywood portal Glamsham.

"I have been working on it for some time now. It was during the making of 'Hum Tum', in which I worked as an assistant, that I finalised the script for 'Salaam Namaste'. Adi (Aditya Chopra) liked it at first instance and asked me to proceed with the subject," says Siddharth.

The fact that both Saif and Preity gave their immediate nod for the film gave him added confidence. "The film was written with them in mind," says the debutant director.

The film will commence shooting shortly and will be shot entirely abroad in one schedule.
