Thommanum Makkalum fame Laya is entering wedlock. She will marry Dr Sri Ganesh and he works as a radiology oncologist in California.

Laya, who completed her MCA recently, said, "It is an arranged marriage. I am going to say goodbye to films as well." Thanking all the producers, directors and actors for helping her complete over 35 films in her career in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movie, Laya, said, "though I am retiring as an actress, I would like to continue stage shows as classical dancer. I am retiring from film industry in order to give more importance to family life."
