Veteran director K Balachander has given us not just quality films and good artistes but a host of directors.
Several of his assistants have gone on to establish a name for themselves in the industry.
The list is long which includes names likes Vasanth, Suresh Krishna, Saran, Samudra Kani among others. The latest to join them is Selvam, who had been part of several of K Balachander's tele-serials.
Selvam would make his debut as director for a movie titled Rameshwaram. The movie features Jeeva in the lead role. Its looks likely that Malluwood girl Bhavana would play the heroine.
Unlike his mentor, Selvam will be making his entry with an action-packed story.
The movie would go to floors once Jeeva completes his Thamizh MA.
