One film throws Sankranthi release plans out of gear

Sankranthi 2022 is supposed to be the biggest clash of titans in the history of Telugu cinema. Already 'Radhe Shyam', 'Bheemla Nayak', and 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' have confirmed their dates. Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya', too, is said to be eyeing the coming Sankranthi.

However, the plans of one particular film are threatening to throw the Sankranthi releases out of gear. Needless to say, we are talking about 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram'. The SS Rajamouli directorial is said to be heading for a Sankranthi 2022 release. It won't be hitting the screens on October 13.

While the news is yet to be made official, the buzz in the industry is that the Jr NTR-Ram Charan starrer is going to be the solo film in the race unless postponed again.

What then happens to the films of Prabhas, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, and Chiranjeevi? Barring Prabhas' film, none of them is a pan-India flick. So they might find it less difficult to rejig their dates compared to the notoriously-delayed 'Radhe Shyam'.

A lot will depend on what is going to happen this year on the Covid-19 front.
