Omung Kumar starts research on 'Sarbjit'; visits Dalbir Kaur's house

National award winning director Omung Kumar, who is directing a biopic based on Sarabjit Singh, has kicked started his recce for his movie Sarbjit'. The director along with producer and creative director Sandeep Singh, production designer Vanita Kumar, creative producer Akshay and director of photography Kiran Deohans recently visited Amritsar and Patiala for the hunt for the perfect locations.

The team visited the places concerned with Sarabjit which also includes Wagha Border and the small villages around it. A special visit was also made at Dalbir Kaur's house, where director Omung Kumar had a brief chat with Dalbir and his family members.

Commenting on his rendezvous with Dalbir Kaur, Omung Kumar said, "When you make a biopic, it is important to understand the background the subject and the situation she/he was in. I had a detailed meeting and conversation with Sarabjit's sister Dalbir Kaur and his mother before I finalized my script. The aim is to show the audience the suffering of a simple man who was a farmer in Punjab and the trauma he underwent during his years of imprisonment".

The heart breaking biopic Sarbjit' is set to go on floor by this December and is slated to be released in the year 2016. The movie stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hood in the lead.
